TOUR INFORMATION
A few months ago, the newest band to sign to Pop Detective Records was The Jellybricks. Shortly after the release of their album, "Suckers", the first single "Rock and Roll Suicide" was selected by Little Steven Van Zandt as the "Coolest Song in the World" on Sirius XM's Underground Garage radio show. This became the 9th Coolest Song in the last three years to come from a Pop Detective Records artist. There were a lot of emails coming in asking when another Pop Detective Records artist, The Dahlmanns, would be coming to the USA for their first tour on American soil. And, The Deadbeat Poets had just returned from a highly successful European Tour playing to packed houses throughtout Germany, Croatia, and Sweden. So, the idea was hatched to do a short 10 day tour with The Jellybricks, The Deadbeat Poets, and The Dahlmanns. In talking with The Jellybricks management about the tour, we started to realize that this could be so much more...so much COOLER....if we made it a true road tour featuring a number of "Coolest Song" winners from the Underground Garage show. We kicked around ideas for bands that people would be dying to see. Bands who had Coolest Songs in the World from early in the shows inception 10 years ago, to the middle years, to the present. Our "dream" list was created, we made a few phone calls, and the response was overwhelming! We now have 7 Coolest Song bands on the tour...The JellyBricks, The Deadbeat Poets (2 time winners), The Dahlmanns (3 time winners and the overall #1 song of 2010), Prima Donna (one of the hottest bands on the west coast having opened up for Green Day on their Japanese and European tours), The Shazam (legendary Nashville rockers who have not toured in a few years), The Mockers (another fan favorite who rarely play in the USA, having a huge fan base in Europe, they usually tour only there!), and The Gripweeds (one of Little Steven's favorites and an electrifying live act!). We contacted the Underground Garage with the idea of doing this tour with only Coolest Song winners, and, since it is a moniker handed out by Little Steven on the show, wanted to make sure they were behind us! They loved the idea and agreed to help promote the tour in any way they could with on air drops from all DJ's every time one of the tour artists tracks is played!
That was all the inspiration we needed!! We had incredible bands wanting to play, we had the support of the Underground Garage, and we had a ton of buzz and excitement from fans of all of these bands! The Coolest Tour in the World was born! This is a first of it's kind! And it's coming to your city in September and October of this year! Book it now! You will want to be a part of history in the making!
