THE DEADBEAT POETS
The Deadbeat Poets are the consumate rock veterans! With a lineage that includes 1970's critics darlings "Blue Ash", to punk legend Stiv Bators and his Dead Boys, to 1990's pop rockers "The Infidels"....The Deadbeat Poets have been around the "rock block". Having played all over world in the last three years, and with THREE album releases in four years, they are spreading thier brand of classic Americana rock / power pop far and wide! Their debut album, "Notes From the Underground" was called "one of the 12 best releases" of 2007! A single, "No Island Like the Mind, No Ship Like Beer" was played at every home match of the Everton Football Club, Liverpool, England.
Their second album, 2010's "Circus Town" featured a Joe Meek tribute track called "The Staircase Stomp". Picked as Coolest Song in the World in mid 2010, "The Staircase Stomp" ended the year as the overall #5 song on Sirius XM's Underground Garage and received a large amount of airplay in Joe Meeks native UK!
The band's third album, 2011's "Youngstown Vortex Sutra (The British Version)" topped many SIrius XM DJ's "Best of the Year" lists! The single, "The Man With the Xray Eyes" was selected as Coolest Song in the World" in early 2011, and ended the year as the overall #3 song as voted by the Sirius XM listenners!
By the time the tour takes off, The Deadbeat Poets will have released their 4th, and as yet, un-named album. Little Steven has already heard the pre-mastered version and has selected a Coolest Song in the World from it that will air in September, just before the tour kicks off!!
